China, let the Olympics begin

China (various cities), Films: Fuji color 100, 200 & 400

I enjoy the Olympics and the concept behind it...I look past the politics, commercialism and all the other agendas that come with it.

It reminds me of my childhood...when running after a football (soccer ball) could make my whole day a happy one...or secretly shaking in my knees before each martial art practice because I might have ended up sparring with my Sensei(teacher)...or the first time I ran 60m just about 8.25 seconds...or the bicycle rides in rain, snow and wind etc. etc.

It also reminds me of purity of simple pleasures in life, when a physical activity can cleanse your mind...the concepts of forgiving and helping others comes to mind as well as cherishing life and fighting for it.

The above images were shot in various cities in China. I have done multiple series of essays in far east in street, documentary and travel style photography.

Let's hope this Olympic games, would be a good one.

“The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well.” - Pierre de Coubertin

Cheers
