Daniel Davies Gans (October 25, 1956 – May 1, 2009) was an American singer and comedian who found success as a vocal impressionist. **

During years I have photographed a few people who are no longer with us.
This is life and we all are looking at such an end without any exception.
However memories and our characteristics can last longer than our lives...at times much longer.
.
I did two photo sessions with Danny Gans few years back...both conducted on the same day.
He was funny, positive and energetic...he was also willing to try various concepts without any hesitations.(such as the second set of images posted above) (the lighting situation was very bad, but we did what we had to do)
.
We were shooting for "the Danny Gans Junior Golf Academy, a program that he founded and operated in conjunction with The First Tee of Southern Nevada and the Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association. " (many Las Vegas kids were introduced and learned the game of golf--and the life skills and core values it instills from this program) *
.
" The Academy and The First Tee of Southern Nevada clinics focus on helping kids to learn the game of golf, but the underlying keys to the clinics are words like respect, integrity, honesty and other words that help guide kids through life. Gans donated financially to junior golf, hosted the annual Danny Gans Partee Fore Kids golf event, and represented Las Vegas by playing in PGA Tour celebrity pro-am events like the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, where he garnered a ton of national air time during the CBS telecast. “Providing kids the tools they can use to learn core values such as honesty, integrity and perseverance is truly a blessing,” Gans said in the past about being involved with the kids of the junior golf program. Gans also was very involved with many other Las Vegas charitable organizations. " *
.
"Gans was a headliner on the Las Vegas Strip and the surrounding area for many years, where he was billed as "The Man of Many Voices." He had been named Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year and his production had also been awarded Show of the Year." **
.
"At one time, Gans was a professional baseball player. He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox after being named an All-America at California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo where he was a Physical Education major."**
.
"Gans started his Las Vegas stay at the Stratosphere Hotel in 1996. He moved to the Rio Hotel shortly thereafter and then on to The Mirage in 2000. Gans was a permanent performer at The Mirage, where the Danny Gans Theatre was built for him."**
.
"In April 2007, a delegation of Kentucky Colonels went to Las Vegas and presented him with the Kentucky Colonel award. At the time of his death he was grossing $18 million a year."**
.
"Gans died on May 1, 2009, at his posh mansion in the Roma Hills Estates in Henderson, Nevada. The cause of death was a drug toxicity caused by the combination of hydromorphone (an opiate, commonly marketed under the name Dilaudid) and a pre-existing heart condition."**
