Three photos of the day: Gold Coast

Model: Katisha, Make Up Artist: Alison, Film: Ilford B/W 400
Styling: Wolf189

These shots were taken about two years ago in the Gold Coast Hotel.

I did four short sessions with Katisha during those three days, one after another. We covered a lot of ground from commercial style photography to editorial fashion, portrait, life style, subtle erotic and experimental/abstract fine art work...and I really enjoy working like that...shooting 2 rolls in one style and immediately starting to shoot additional rolls in a very different style ( consciously )...all being improvised based on the mood, light, connection etc.

I'll come back to these sessions in near future.

Cheers

Three photos of the day: Motel 6

Model : Envy, Film: Kodak B/W 400
Motel 6 and Envy's presence gave us enough material to work with and then some.
These were shot few months ago...the session's styles were everything between subtle fetish photography to portrait to erotic and editorial fashion. Apparently I have hard time to focus on one style at times.

Las Vegas Editorial/Commercial Fashion Photography

Models: Aleksandra, Alexandria, Anya, Ina, Taylor
Films: Kodak B/W 400, Kodak Color 100, Fuji Color 160

There are lots of urban back grounds available in Las Vegas, suitable for various styles of photography from editorial fashion to commercial, portraiture etc.

It's just a matter of scouting and utilizing them in 100+ Fahrenheit degree temperature during 6 months of each year.

Anytime I am in Vegas, I try and enjoy giving it a shot.

Deadly Virtues...

Model: Anna Rebecca, Styling: Wolf189, Film: Ilford B/W 400

Chastity prays for me, piety sings,
Innocence sweetens my last black breath,
Modesty hides my thighs in her wings,
And all the deadly virtues plague my death!
Dylan Thomas

I am reading more poetry these days...it seems and feels fitting for the visual expedition that I'm pursuing...although I am trying to keep them separated from each other, whatever that means.
Trying to keep my photography uninfluenced by poetry and other written words, music, cinema and art is like trying to stay alive without breathing .
It doesn't matter if I am trying to shoot editorial fashion, portrait, commercial, fine art nude or even erotica...those elements always find their ways to sneak up on me....even while doing candid street photography.
I might just stop fighting it and let it go.

And now you're mine. Rest with your dream in my dream.
Love and pain and work should all sleep, now.
The night turns on its invisible wheels,
and you are pure beside me as a sleeping amber.

No one else, Love, will sleep in my dreams.
You will go,we will go together, over the waters of time.
No one else will travel through the shadows with me,
only you, evergreen, ever sun, ever moon.

Your hands have already opened their delicate fists
and let their soft drifting signs drop away; your eyes closed like two gray
wings, and I move
after, following the folding water you carry, that carries me away.
The night, the world, the wind spin out their destiny.
Without you, I am your dream, only that, and that is all.

Pablo Neruda

Bottom: Christina US & World Amateur boxing champion in Las Vegas Life Magazine

I decided to create a News page in my website sometime ago but never, till recently, I actually tried to update it or organize it.

The page is still not very polished nor organized but at least I have started to work on it.

It includes some of the published works as well as past exhibitions...and it is a work in progress:

China, let the Olympics begin

China (various cities), Films: Fuji color 100, 200 & 400

I enjoy the Olympics and the concept behind it...I look past the politics, commercialism and all the other agendas that come with it.

It reminds me of my childhood...when running after a football (soccer ball) could make my whole day a happy one...or secretly shaking in my knees before each martial art practice because I might have ended up sparring with my Sensei(teacher)...or the first time I ran 60m just about 8.25 seconds...or the bicycle rides in rain, snow and wind etc. etc.

It also reminds me of purity of simple pleasures in life, when a physical activity can cleanse your mind...the concepts of forgiving and helping others comes to mind as well as cherishing life and fighting for it.

The above images were shot in various cities in China. I have done multiple series of essays in far east in street, documentary and travel style photography.

Let's hope this Olympic games, would be a good one.

“The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well.” - Pierre de Coubertin
